About the Role
Working in partnership with Northern Lights Learning Trust, Vision for Education are looking to recruit a qualified Year 2 Teacher to work on a part-time basis across primary schools in the Darlington area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is committed, enthusiastic, and passionate about supporting children in Key Stage 1. You will work within supportive school environments, delivering engaging, creative, and age-appropriate lessons that help pupils develop their confidence, independence, and academic skills.
This is a part-time position, ideal for a teacher seeking a flexible role within a Year 2 setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Create a positive, inclusive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
- Support children's development across the Year 2 curriculum, including reading, writing, and mathematics
- Assess, monitor, and record pupils' progress
- Promote pupils' communication, social, emotional, and personal development
- Manage behaviour effectively using positive and age-appropriate strategies
- Differentiate learning activities to support pupils of varying abilities and needs
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching within a primary school setting
- Experience teaching Key Stage 1, particularly Year 2, is desirable
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A passion for primary education and supporting children's learning and development
- The ability to create engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences
- The ability to adapt teaching and activities to meet a range of learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and commitment to working on a part-time basis
