About the role
As a Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop curiosity, scientific understanding, practical skills, and confidence in their learning.
You will have the opportunity to work within a variety of supportive secondary schools, delivering high-quality lessons while maintaining high expectations for behaviour, progress, and achievement.
This role is ideal for experienced Science Teachers and Early Career Teachers looking to gain experience across different school settings or secure a long-term position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 (experience teaching Biology, Chemistry, or Physics is desirable)
- Deliver practical experiments and encourage students’ scientific curiosity
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress
- Adapt teaching strategies to support students of varying abilities
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and school leaders
- Follow safeguarding, behaviour, and school policies at all times

You will work across a range of welcoming secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent, including academies, community schools, and multi-academy trusts.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience teaching Science within UK secondary schools
- Be confident teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Demonstrate effective classroom and behaviour management skills
- Be enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people
- Have excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
