About the role
As an Experienced Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absence, ensuring students remain engaged and on task with pre-set work across a range of subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4.
Working within supportive secondary schools, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting students' progress in the absence of the regular teacher.
This role is ideal for experienced Cover Supervisors looking for flexible work, long-term placements, or opportunities to build their career within education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise lessons across a range of subjects using work set by the class teacher
- Ensure students remain focused, engaged, and complete learning activities
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Provide support and encouragement to students during lessons
- Build positive relationships with students and school staff
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
- Follow safeguarding, behaviour, and school policies at all times

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will:
- Have previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor within a secondary school setting
- Have experience managing classrooms and supporting students' learning
- Be confident supervising lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Demonstrate effective behaviour management skills
- Be enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people
- Have excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
