About the role
SEN Student Support Assistant
Location: Sevenoaks
Vision for Education is recruiting caring and enthusiastic SEN Student Support Assistants to work in a specialist school in Sevenoaks supporting children and young people aged 4-19 with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and associated learning difficulties.
This is much more than a classroom role. You'll support students with their personal care, mobility, learning and independence throughout the school day and within the school's residential provision.
Your role will include:
- Supporting pupils in lessons and around school
- Personal care and intimate care
- Moving & Handling using specialist equipment
- Supporting communication and independence
- Working alongside teachers, therapists and care staff
- Helping create a safe, positive learning environment
Shift patterns
- 7:00am - 2:30pm / 3:30pm
- 8:30am - 3:30pm
- 12:30pm - 9:30pm
- 3:30pm - 10:00pm
- School finishes at 2:00pm on Fridays
We're looking for people with:
- SEN or school experience
- Care experience
- Practical Moving & Handling training completed
- Makaton (desirable)
- Autism experience
- GCSE English & Maths
- A caring, patient attitude
Please note: The school is not accessible by public transport, so applicants must have access to transport.
