About the Role – SEN Teacher
Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to children and young people with additional needs?
Vision for Education Brighton is recruiting an SEN Teacher to work within a specialist school in Brighton, supporting pupils aged 4-16.
The school is a maintained specialist school, registered with the DfE, where all pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Pupils have a diverse range of needs, including:
- Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
- Physical Disabilities
- Autism (ASC)
- Moderate Learning Disabilities (MLD)
- Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD)
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and wants to work in a specialist environment where pupil progress, wellbeing and individual achievement are at the heart of the role.
About the Position
As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment tailored to the individual needs of your pupils.
Working with children and young people with a range of complex and additional needs means that learning may look different for every pupil. We are therefore looking for someone who is patient, adaptable and creative, and who understands that progress should be celebrated in all its forms.
You will work closely with teaching assistants and other school staff to ensure pupils receive consistent and meaningful support throughout their school day.
Experience within SEN would be highly beneficial, particularly experience supporting pupils with PMLD, ASC, MLD, SLD or physical disabilities. However, we would also love to hear from qualified teachers who have transferable experience and a genuine passion for developing their career within specialist education.
This role would suit someone who:
- Is passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND
- Can adapt their teaching to meet a wide range of individual needs and abilities
- Has a patient, nurturing and positive approach
- Is confident managing behaviour and creating a safe learning environment
- Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a wider classroom and school team
- Wants to make a meaningful difference to pupils with additional needs
