Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible Supply
Salary: £95–£108 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications

Vision for Education are looking for caring, enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work across welcoming schools in Chelmsford and the surrounding areas.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide valuable support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their potential.
You may work on a 1:1 basis, in small groups or alongside the class teacher, depending on the needs of the school and pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning.
- Support pupils with communication, social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
- Follow individual support plans and EHCP strategies.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress where appropriate.
- Promote an inclusive, safe and supportive learning environment.
- Follow school safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
- Caring, patient and compassionate.
- Passionate about supporting children and young people.
- Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- A strong communicator and team player.
- Flexible, proactive and able to adapt to individual needs.
- Committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
- Experienced working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting — although transferable experience is welcomed.
- Able to provide two suitable professional references.
- Willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
Relevant qualifications in education, childcare or SEND are desirable but not essential for all opportunities.
