About the role

1:1 Teaching Assistant – Reception – Part Time Mornings – November 2026

TS3 Area – Competitive Daily Rate (dependent on experience)

Vision for Education is looking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our successful supply team and work within a welcoming primary school in the TS3 area.

This is a part-time morning-only role, supporting a Reception child on a 1:1 basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide consistent and individualised support, helping the child to access learning, develop confidence and independence, and enjoy a positive experience at school.

The role will commence in November 2026 and is ongoing, with the potential to become long-term depending on the needs of the school.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position is a Level 2 qualification or above in Teaching and Supporting Learning. Previous experience working within an Early Years or Reception setting is desirable.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive and enthusiastic teaching team, the desired Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Reception child.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing consistent 1:1 support to help the child access classroom learning and activities.
  • Supporting the child with their individual learning and developmental needs.
  • Helping the child to remain focused and engaged during activities.
  • Supporting the child's confidence, communication, social skills, and independence.
  • Providing reassurance, encouragement, and emotional support throughout the morning.
  • Supporting the child with classroom routines and transitions.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping the child develop appropriate strategies for managing emotions and challenges.
  • Adapting activities and resources where appropriate to help the child access learning.
  • Encouraging participation in age-appropriate play-based and adult-led learning activities.
  • Supporting the development of early communication, literacy, numeracy, social, and independence skills.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team to ensure consistent support.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.

The successful candidate will be patient, caring, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to build a strong and trusting relationship with the child and respond effectively to their individual needs.

The School

This friendly and inclusive primary school in the TS3 area is seeking a committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception child.

The Head Teacher and leadership team are dedicated to providing high-quality education within a supportive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive. The school has a strong community ethos and is committed to ensuring pupils receive the individual support they need to achieve their full potential.

Requirements

To be considered for the 1:1 Teaching Assistant position, you will:

  • Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Early Years, although this is desirable rather than essential.
  • Have experience working with children within a primary school, Early Years, or nursery setting.
  • Experience working with Reception-aged children would be advantageous.
  • Have a genuine desire to support children with their individual learning and development.
  • Be patient, nurturing, and able to build a positive relationship with the child.
  • Be able to work effectively alongside the class teacher and wider school team.
  • Demonstrate a positive, flexible, and child-centred approach.
  • Be available to work part time during mornings.
  • Be available to start in November 2026.
