Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join the supportive team at Purfleet Primary School, part of the REAch2 Academy Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping every pupil reach their full potential.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and the wider school team to provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs. You will help create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.
Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.

Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

Helping children develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

Implementing individual learning and support plans under the guidance of teaching staff.

Supporting pupils with their emotional and behavioural development.
-
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and parents/carers where appropriate.

Promoting a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

Encouraging pupils to develop independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
About You
The successful candidate will be a caring, patient and resilient individual who genuinely wants to make a difference to children's lives.
You will ideally have:

Experience working with children, particularly children with SEN or additional needs.

A calm, nurturing and positive approach.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.

Patience, empathy and a good sense of humour.

A willingness to work as part of a supportive school team.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Previous experience within a school setting is desirable, but we would also welcome applications from candidates with relevant experience in childcare, youth work, care or other supporting roles.
