Vision for Education are recruiting SEND Support Workers to work with schools and specialist provisions across Cirencester and the surrounding Gloucestershire area.

If you enjoy working with children and young people and want a job where you can genuinely make a difference, this could be a great opportunity. You'll be part of a school team supporting pupils with SEND, special educational needs, autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, learning needs and complex needs.

The role is varied and can include 1:1 support, small-group work and classroom support. Your focus will be helping pupils feel settled, take part in school life, develop their confidence and become as independent as possible.

What you'll be doing

Depending on the setting and pupils you're supporting, your day could include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Helping pupils access lessons and activities
  • Supporting children with SEND and additional needs
  • Encouraging communication, confidence and independence
  • Helping pupils manage emotions and behaviour
  • Supporting social and communication development
  • Assisting with practical, sensory and learning activities
