Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher looking for an opportunity to make a genuine difference?

Vision for Education is proud to be the Managed Service Provider (MSP) for Ascent Academies' Trust, supporting their specialist academies across the North East. We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and committed SEND Teachers to work across three of their schools:

  • Hope Wood Academy – Easington Colliery, Peterlee

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established specialist education Trust, supporting children and young people with additional needs and helping them achieve their individual potential.

About Ascent Academies' Trust

Ascent Academies' Trust is committed to building brighter futures for young people with special educational needs. Their approach centres around celebrating individuality, promoting equality, developing independence and ensuring every young person has the opportunity to achieve.

As a Trust, they place great importance on collaboration, sharing expertise and continually developing teaching and learning across their academies.

Why work with Ascent through Vision for Education?

As the Trust's dedicated Managed Service Provider, Vision for Education offers teachers a direct route to opportunities across these schools.

Working with us gives you access to:

  • Opportunities across three specialist academies within the Trust.

  • A dedicated recruitment consultant who understands the schools and their requirements.

  • A supportive recruitment team who will work with you to find opportunities that suit your experience and preferences.

  • Flexible teaching opportunities, with the potential to gain valuable experience within a specialist Trust environment.

The role

As a SEND Teacher, you will play an important role in delivering engaging, inclusive and personalised learning experiences.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver lessons tailored to individual learning needs and abilities.

  • Create a positive, engaging and supportive classroom environment.

  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of additional needs.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider school teams.

  • Encourage communication, confidence, independence and personal development.

  • Support pupils to achieve meaningful progress, both academically and personally.

What we're looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience working within a SEND setting is desirable.

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.

  • A flexible, patient and adaptable approach to teaching.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
