£500-£575 per week dependent upon role, hours and experience

Full time, part time, permanent or temporary

Vision for Education is proud to be the Managed Service Provider (MSP) for The Ascent Academies’ Trust and is looking for enthusiastic, caring and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistants to work across the Trust's specialist academies in Harrogate and North Yorkshire.

As the Trust's exclusive provider of supply staffing, we can offer regular day-to-day, short-term and long-term opportunities throughout the academic year.

Whether you're an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant, looking to move into specialist education or searching for a flexible role where you can make a real difference, registering with Vision for Education gives you direct access to opportunities across The Ascent Academies’ Trust.

Ascent Academies’ Trust provides specialist education for children and young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Working within the Trust, you'll play an important role in supporting pupils' learning, development, independence and wellbeing.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside Teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality support to children and young people with a range of additional needs.

Depending on the placement, your role may include providing one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils to access learning, supporting communication and interaction, promoting independence and helping to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

You'll build positive relationships with pupils and work closely with Teachers, Teaching Assistants and other professionals to provide support tailored to each young person's individual needs.

Requirements

To be considered for a SEND Teaching Assistant role, you will need:

  • Experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care or similar setting
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND
  • A patient, caring and positive approach
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • The confidence to support pupils with a range of individual needs
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different specialist settings
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team

Previous experience within a specialist school, provision or supporting learners or adults with SEND is desirable, but not always essential. We also welcome applications from people with relevant experience in mainstream education, care, youth work or other support-based roles who are interested in developing a career within SEND education.

What We Offer

When you join Vision for Education, you'll benefit from:

  • Excellent rates of pay through the PAYE system
  • Guaranteed Pay Scheme (subject to availability)
  • Regular day-to-day, short-term and long-term opportunities across The Ascent Academies’ Trust
  • Pension contributions
  • Access to SEND-focused CPD and professional development
  • Support from a dedicated local SEND consultant
  • Opportunities to develop your experience across a range of specialist settings
  • Social and networking events
