Sports Coaches are required to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a specialist Birmingham school. The School and Role
Kitts Green Academy is a specialist SEMH provision supporting boys aged 6–16 who require additional behavioural and emotional support to succeed in education. The school is looking to appoint enthusiastic Sports Coaches to work as Teaching Assistants, using their coaching experience to motivate pupils, build confidence and encourage positive behaviour both inside and outside the classroom.
Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff, you will support pupils during lessons, lead structured physical activities, promote emotional regulation and help young people develop resilience, teamwork and self-confidence. Every day is different, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships and making a lasting impact. This is a long-term position with the opportunity to secure a permanent role.
Requirements
The desired Sports Coach will have;
- Experience coaching children or young people in any sporting environment
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- A resilient, energetic and proactive approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- A passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs
