Vision for Education are looking for Sports Graduates in the Monmouth area.

About the role

Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant – Monmouth

Urgently Needed – September 2026 Start | Permanent Opportunity Available

Are you a Sports or Physical Education graduate looking to start a career in education and make a genuine difference to young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)?

A specialist school in the Monmouth area is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain hands-on experience supporting pupils with ALN, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), while developing a long-term career within education.

There is also the possibility of a permanent position with the school for the right candidate following a successful period working through the agency.

As a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will use your sporting background to support pupils both in the classroom and through structured physical activity. You will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping them develop confidence, communication, emotional regulation, independence and positive relationships.

You will play an important role in helping pupils access their learning and engage with the school environment. Your experience and understanding of sport can be particularly valuable in encouraging teamwork, resilience, confidence and positive behaviour.

The school is committed to providing a supportive and structured environment for pupils with ALN and offers an excellent opportunity for graduates to develop their skills within a specialist setting.

This role involves travelling between school sites in the Monmouth area, so a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential. Mileage is paid for travel between school sites.

What we’re looking for

• A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education or a related subject
• A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with ALN
• An understanding of or interest in Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional learning needs
• Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
• A calm, patient and consistent approach to supporting pupils
• Energy, enthusiasm and a proactive approach to each school day
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Resilience and the ability to adapt to individual pupil needs
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist education setting

What we offer

In return, you will receive:

£92.56 – £108.56 per day, depending on experience
Urgent September 2026 start available
Opportunity to secure a permanent position with the school
• Full-time hours, 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
• Mileage paid for travel between school sites
• Experience working within a specialist ALN setting
• High-quality CPD and ongoing professional development
• Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant
• Weekly PAYE payments and pension contributions
• A potential pathway into a long-term career within education
