The School and the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate English Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Chadderton on a full-time basis from September 2026 until December 2026, with the potential for the role to continue into 2027.
You will be teaching English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Years 7–11), delivering engaging and inspiring lessons that help students develop confidence in reading, writing and communication. The school has a supportive leadership team, well-behaved students, and a strong commitment to raising achievement and staff development.
The English department is collaborative and well-resourced, with opportunities to contribute to enrichment activities and wider school life. You will be joining a welcoming team that values creativity, high expectations and excellent teaching.
Requirements (Please Apply Only If You Meet the Below)
To be considered for this Teacher of English role, you must:
- Hold QTS or a PGCE (UK-recognised teaching qualification)
- Have recent experience teaching English Language and/or English Literature at KS3 and KS4
- Have experience preparing students for GCSE examinations
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and the ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills
- Be able to provide suitable references, a valid Enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply), and Right to Work in the UK
