About the Role

Vision for Education are seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to work within welcoming and inclusive schools across Southend-on-Sea. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to engage with learning and achieve their full potential in a supportive environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties.

The Role Will Include

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
• Supporting pupils’ academic progress and emotional wellbeing
• Assisting the class teacher with differentiated learning activities
• Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction
• Helping pupils develop confidence and independence
• Working collaboratively with school staff and parents

Requirements

The desired SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN
• A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Relevant qualifications or experience within education, care, or support work (desirable)

Experience from schools, care settings, youth work, or support work backgrounds is welcomed.
