About the Role

Vision for Education is currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Darlington DL1 area.

This role involves supporting pupils within a mixed Key Stage 2 class, working closely with the class teacher to help create a positive and engaging learning environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils' academic, social, and emotional development, ensuring all children can access learning and achieve their full potential.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and looking to gain valuable experience within a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
• Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning
• Provide additional support to pupils who require extra assistance
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
• Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils
• Assist with classroom preparation and learning resources
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents where appropriate

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
• A positive, enthusiastic, and caring approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A commitment to supporting children's learning and development
• A willingness to undertake relevant training and professional development
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
