Teaching Assistant – SEND Department | Secondary School | Preston, Lancashire
We are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join a well-established SEND department within a secondary school in Preston, Lancashire. The successful Teaching Assistant will support students with ADHD and Autism across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.
The school was praised during its most recent Ofsted inspection for maintaining high standards, positive pupil behaviour and a supportive learning environment, retaining its Good judgement.
The role:
- Full-time Teaching Assistant position in Preston, Lancashire
- Supporting students with ADHD and Autism across KS3 and KS4
- Working closely with the SEND team and teaching staff
- Starting September 2026
- Long-term temporary role with no set end date
- Opportunity to build valuable experience within a secondary school setting
Requirements:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting young people in an educational setting
- Knowledge of SEND, particularly ADHD and Autism
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A patient, supportive and adaptable approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
