Vision for Education is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Blackpool, Lancashire from September 2026. This is a full-time, temporary long-term role for the full academic year, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:05pm, term time only.
As a Teaching Assistant in Blackpool, Lancashire, you will work closely on a 1:1 basis with a Year 9 student who has an EHCP, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential in a supportive school environment.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 9 student with an EHCP.
- Supporting the student to access the curriculum and participate fully in lessons.
- Working alongside teachers to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting independence.
- Building positive relationships with the student, staff and parents/carers.
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Supporting the student's social, emotional and academic development.
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Requirements
To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will:
- Have experience working with secondary age children.
- Hold a minimum Level 2 childcare qualification or equivalent.
- Have excellent behaviour management skills.
- Be a confident communicator, able to use your own initiative when required.
