The school –
- Support pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs.
- Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and differentiated learning activities.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning plans.
- Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and social development.
- Assist with personal care needs where required.
- Support positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to reviews and assessments.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
The role - - Adapt activities to suit individual learning needs and abilities.
- Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and participation through active learning approaches.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils to promote trust and motivation.
- Assist teachers in delivering creative and differentiated lessons across the curriculum.
- Support pupils with sensory, behavioural, and communication needs in both classroom and outdoor settings.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Supervise and support pupils during breaktimes, educational visits, and extracurricular sports activities.
- Create a safe, encouraging, and inclusive environment where every pupil can succeed.
About you:
To be considered for the Teaching Assistant role, you will:
- Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
- Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
- Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
