Vision for Education are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Trainee Teaching Assistant Programme and work within a supportive school environment in Kendal. The successful candidate will gain practical classroom experience while developing the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to become an effective Teaching Assistant.
Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you will support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs, helping them access education, build independence, and achieve their full potential.

The role:
- Full-time Trainee Teaching Assistant position in Kendal, Cumbria.
- Starting September 2026.
- Participation in the Vision for Education Trainee Teaching Assistant Programme.
- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
- Working alongside teachers, Teaching Assistants, and pastoral teams.
- Supporting classroom activities, interventions, and pupil engagement.
- Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence, independence, and progress.
- Developing practical skills through classroom experience, mentoring, and CPD opportunities.
Requirements:
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
- A willingness to learn and develop through the Trainee Teaching Assistant Programme.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Previous experience working with children, young people, or in a support role is desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
