About the Role

Vision for Education are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to work on a part-time basis within a welcoming primary school in the TS12 area.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young learners during an important stage of their primary education. You will work closely with the class teacher to provide engaging, nurturing, and inclusive support, helping pupils develop strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, communication, and personal development.

The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative school team committed to providing the best possible outcomes for every child.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Year 1 class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils
• Help pupils develop their early literacy and numeracy skills
• Support children's social, emotional, and personal development
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
• Assist with classroom preparation, organisation, and learning resources
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement
• Work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and parents where appropriate

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with children in a Key Stage 1 or primary school setting
• Experience supporting pupils in Year 1 is desirable
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for supporting young learners and primary education
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A caring, patient, flexible, and proactive approach
• Reliability and a commitment to supporting children's learning and development
