Teaching Assistant (1:1 SEND)
Hastings
£92.56 Per Day
Starting September 2026
The School and Role
Vision for Education is looking for a patient, dependable Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with a child with SEND in a Hastings school.
You'll support the same pupil day to day, helping them access the curriculum, stay regulated and build confidence in the classroom. That means adapting tasks and resources to suit them, following the strategies set out in their EHCP or support plan, and working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress. Consistency matters enormously in this kind of role — building a strong, trusting relationship with one child is what makes the difference.
It's a rewarding position for anyone who enjoys seeing steady, individual progress, and a strong foundation if you're considering a longer-term career in SEND, teaching or therapeutic support.
Requirements
The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:
- A genuine desire to be part of a committed team of education professionals
- A passion for working with young people
- Patience, resilience and a calm, consistent approach
- An interest in working in the education sector, particularly SEND
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum required for this position is:
- Experience working with children, ideally including those with additional needs, or a willingness to complete our training programme
Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
What We Offer
- Excellent daily rates paid through PAYE (your rate reflects your scale rate, experience and qualifications, and will be discussed at registration)
- Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability)
- Social and networking events
- Pension contributions
- CPD to support your professional development, including SEND-specific training
- A dedicated consultant who knows you and the schools you work in
