About the Role

Vision for Education are looking to recruit a part-time Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school in the DL9, Darlington area, supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 (KS2).

This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development.

You will work closely with the class teacher to provide support to pupils across the KS2 curriculum, helping children to engage with their learning, develop their confidence, and become more independent learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging KS2 lessons.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to support their learning.
• Assist pupils with reading, writing, mathematics, and other areas of the KS2 curriculum.
• Support pupils with their classwork and help them develop independent learning skills.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources and activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils to achieve their full potential.
• Provide additional support to pupils with SEND where required.
• Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children or within an educational setting.
• Experience supporting pupils within a primary school is desirable.
• A caring, patient, and supportive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
• Relevant qualifications, such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, are desirable but not essential.
• Availability to work on a part-time basis.
