Teaching Assistant – Stoke-on-Trent

£14.24 to £16.15 per hour · Weekly pay · Term-time school hours

If you already work with children, it might be worth checking what you are actually earning per hour.

With supply work, you are paid for the hours and days you work. Your pay is not stretched across the year or hidden behind a pro-rata salary.

Work the day. Get paid for the day. Money in your account every Friday.

And when the school day finishes, so do you. No taking planning home. No staying behind to sort displays. No after-school clubs.

You are there to support the children, then you are home.

I work with primary schools across Stoke-on-Trent, including Tunstall, Burslem, Hanley, Fenton, Longton, Meir, Blurton and Bentilee, covering Reception through to Year 6.

What is on offer

• £14.24 to £16.15 an hour – approximately £92.56 to £110 per day

• Weekly pay every Friday

• Term-time work during school hours

• Choose when you work. One day a week, a few days, or full time – you are in control of your availability

• Opportunities across ST1 to ST6, so we can look for schools close to you

• Choose between day-to-day supply, regular weekly work or longer-term placements

• Free training and development, with opportunities to work towards Level 3, Level 4 or HLTA qualifications

Got SEN experience? Tell me about it.

Even if you have never officially had “SEN Teaching Assistant” written on your job title.

Maybe you regularly supported one particular child. Maybe you were the person asked to work with pupils who found the classroom difficult. Perhaps you have supported autism, behaviour, speech and language needs, physical needs or children with an EHCP.

That experience matters. Put it on your application.

There is strong demand for people who are comfortable supporting children with additional needs, and some SEN assignments can attract higher rates.

No SEN experience? Still apply. I need general classroom Teaching Assistants every week too.

What do you actually need?

• Some experience working with children in a school, nursery or pre-school setting

• A DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one – I can help you through that process

• You do not need a degree or teaching qualification for many of the roles I recruit for

If I know a placement could be challenging, I will tell you. If something changes, I will pick up the phone.

I would rather find you schools you actually want to return to than put you somewhere unsuitable just to fill a booking.

One consultant, local schools, and someone you can actually get hold of when you need them.
