Vision for Education are looking for a Trainee Behaviour Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH school in North Bristol. The school supports pupils who have social, emotional and mental health needs and may display challenging behaviour.
Previous school experience isn't essential. We're much more interested in your personality, attitude and willingness to learn. If you're calm under pressure, able to build trust and genuinely want to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
We provide free online training before you start, giving you the skills and confidence needed to work in the role.
The role
You'll support pupils throughout the school day, helping them to manage their emotions, stay engaged with learning and develop positive relationships. Every day is different, so you'll need to be adaptable, resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
This is a 0-hour contract, offering full-time work during term time, with the opportunity to secure a permanent role with the school.
We're looking for someone who can commit to 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you'll:
- Have a positive attitude and a genuine interest in supporting young people.
- Be patient, resilient and confident building relationships.
- Be able to remain calm when faced with challenging behaviour.
- Be available full-time (32.5 hours per week).
- Hold, or be willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Be able to provide suitable references.
