About the role

Complex Needs & PMLD School | BS30
£462.80 per week (32.5 hours)
Full-time | Term Time Only | 0-hour contract with the opportunity to secure a permanent role

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day?

Vision for Education are looking for a Trainee Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in BS30, supporting children and young people with complex learning needs and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).

You don't need previous school experience. If you're caring, patient and keen to learn, we'll provide free online training before you start to give you the confidence and knowledge needed for the role.

The role

You'll work closely with experienced staff, supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom. Every child has individual needs, so you'll help with learning activities, communication, sensory play and encouraging independence throughout the school day.

Some pupils may require personal care, moving and handling support or assistance with feeding, so being comfortable supporting all aspects of a child's day is important. Full training will be provided.

This is a 0-hour contract, offering full-time work during term time, with the opportunity to secure a permanent role with the school.

We're looking for someone who can commit to 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you'll:

  • Be patient, caring and reliable.
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Be willing to support pupils with personal care where required.
  • Be keen to learn and develop new skills.
  • Be available full-time (32.5 hours per week).
  • Hold, or be willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Be able to provide suitable references.

What we offer

  • £462.80 per week, paid via PAYE.
  • Free online training before you start, plus ongoing CPD.
  • Ongoing support from your dedicated consultant.
  • £125 Refer a Friend bonus.
  • Pension contributions.
  • The opportunity to gain valuable experience in a specialist setting and progress into a permanent role.

Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. All applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS and referencing checks.

If you're compassionate, eager to learn and want to build a career supporting children with additional needs, we'd love to hear from you.
