Vision for Education are looking to recruit a Trainee Teaching Assistant to work across a range of secondary schools in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in education.
While previous school experience isn't essential, it's beneficial if you've worked with children or young people before. This could be through coaching, youth work, tutoring, childcare, volunteering or other support roles.
We'll provide free online training before you start, giving you the skills and confidence needed to work in the classroom.
The role
As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside teachers to support students both in and out of the classroom. You could be working 1:1 with pupils, supporting small groups, helping students stay engaged in lessons or providing additional support to those with SEND or SEMH needs.
This is a 0-hour contract, offering full-time work during term time, with the opportunity to secure a permanent role with one of our partner schools.
We're looking for someone who can commit to 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you'll:
- Have a genuine interest in working with young people.
- Ideally have experience working with children or young people, either paid or voluntary.
- Be patient, reliable and keen to learn.
- Have good communication skills.
- Be available full-time (32.5 hours per week).
- Hold, or be willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Be able to provide suitable references.
