Vision for Education works with primary, secondary and SEND schools and alternative provisions across the Midlands and we are passionate about making a positive impact in education. In partnership with schools in our local communities, we are proud to offer our National Teaching Assistant Programme, designed to support those who want to start a Teaching Assistant career.

The Programme

Working in partnership with our client schools, we'll provide you with high-quality training alongside paid, hands-on experience in a school setting.

Following a successful interview and completion of the necessary suitability, safeguarding and identity checks, we'll match you with a paid placement where you can put your training into practice and continue developing your skills. Whether you're interested in working in a primary school, secondary school or SEND setting, we'll help you find the right opportunity and support you every step of the way through a dedicated consultant.

Before starting your placement, you'll complete a comprehensive training programme delivered by Vision for Education in partnership with experienced school leaders. This will equip you with the practical knowledge, confidence and essential skills needed to succeed as a Teaching Assistant from day one.

The Role

As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting both teachers and pupils, helping to create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Working alongside experienced teachers and school staff, you'll:

  • Support pupils with their learning in the classroom and during small group activities.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive engagement.
  • Provide additional support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), where required.
  • Assist with interventions designed to improve pupils' confidence and academic progress.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Support the class teacher with monitoring, recording and reporting on pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing.

Every day is different, making this a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while developing the skills needed for a long-term career in education.

If you're enthusiastic, reliable and passionate about helping young people achieve their potential, we'd love to hear from you.
