Vision for Education are recruiting Trainee Teaching Assistants to work in primary schools across Stroud and the surrounding area. This is a great way to get your first classroom experience, develop practical skills and work towards a career as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or education professional.
You don't need previous school experience — we're looking for people with the right attitude who are keen to learn and work with children.
The Role
As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers and pupils throughout the school day. Your responsibilities could include:
- Supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Helping pupils with classroom activities and learning tasks
- Supporting children with reading, writing and basic numeracy
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills
- Providing additional support to children with SEN and SEND
- Assisting the class teacher with general classroom support
- Helping maintain a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
You may work across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, giving you the opportunity to experience different year groups and school environments.
