Vision for Education are looking for a Trainee Youth Support Worker to join a specialist school in South Bristol, supporting children and young people with complex needs. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in care, youth work, sports coaching, support work, hospitality or customer service who is looking for a rewarding role where no two days are the same.
You don't need previous school experience – we'll provide free online training before you start, giving you the skills and confidence needed to work in the role.
The role
As a Trainee Youth Support Worker, you'll work alongside experienced staff supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities and physical needs. You'll help pupils throughout the school day, encouraging independence, supporting communication, assisting with classroom activities and helping them to reach their individual goals.
This is a 0-hour contract, offering full-time work during term time, with the opportunity to secure a permanent role with the school.
We're looking for someone who can commit to 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you'll need to:
- Have a genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
- Be patient, caring and resilient.
- Be confident building positive relationships.
- Be available full-time (32.5 hours per week).
- Hold, or be willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Be able to provide suitable references.
