Location: Nottingham and surrounding areas
Start: As soon as you're ready. We have students waiting to be matched now
About the role
We're looking for tutors to work 1:1 with young people who currently can't attend school. This may be due to anxiety, medical needs, disengagement, additional needs or exclusion. Many have an EHCP, and all of them need someone patient and consistent who can rebuild their confidence in Maths and English.
You'll plan and deliver sessions tailored to each student, usually 1-2 hours long. Sessions take place in the student's home, a local library, online or in a school setting. We match you with students based on your strengths, subjects and availability, and you'll usually stay with the same student over time, so they get real consistency.
What you'll need
- Experience teaching or tutoring children or young people, in a classroom or 1:1
- Confidence planning Maths and/or English sessions in line with the national curriculum
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (we'll support you)
- Patience, flexibility and a genuine interest in helping young people who find school difficult
It would be great if you also have
- QTS or another teaching qualification
- Experience supporting students with EHCPs or SEND
We welcome qualified teachers, experienced educators, SEN specialists and experienced tutors. If you're not sure whether you're a fit, apply anyway and we'll talk it through.
What you'll get from us
- Choose how many hours you work and when
- A dedicated consultant who handles matching, scheduling and any issues that come up
- Competitive pay
- Free CPD training and career development events
- Referral rewards
