About the role

Year 1 Teacher – Full Time – November 2026

TS10 Area – £121.50 to £150 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Vision for Education is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join our successful supply team and work within a welcoming primary school in the TS10 area.

This is a full-time role, working within an engaging and supportive Key Stage 1 setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, creative, and age-appropriate learning experiences that support children's academic, social, and emotional development.

The role will commence in November 2026.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position is Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Previous experience teaching within a Year 1 or KS1 setting would be advantageous.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive and experienced teaching team, the desired Year 1 Teacher will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging learning opportunities that meet the needs of all pupils.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, creative, and age-appropriate lessons across the KS1 curriculum.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, stimulating, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Supporting pupils' development across all areas of the curriculum.
  • Developing pupils' communication, literacy, numeracy, social, emotional, and personal skills.
  • Delivering effective phonics and early reading provision.
  • Observing, assessing, and recording pupils' progress and development.
  • Differentiating learning activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils to develop confidence and independence.
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Creating opportunities for pupils to develop their reading, writing, mathematics, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Contributing positively to the wider life of the school community.

Requirements

To be considered for the Year 1 Teacher position, you will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience teaching within a primary or Key Stage 1 setting.
  • Experience teaching Year 1 or KS1 is highly desirable.
  • Have a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Have a good understanding of phonics and early reading.
  • Be confident planning, delivering, and assessing age-appropriate learning opportunities.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Have high expectations for pupils' learning, progress, and wellbeing.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Have a genuine passion for primary education.
  • Be creative, enthusiastic, flexible, and proactive.
  • Be available to work on a full-time basis.
