This is a full-time, ongoing role, working within an engaging and nurturing Early Years setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, creative, and age-appropriate learning experiences that support children's development across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

The role is available for an immediate start and is expected to continue on an ongoing basis.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position is Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Previous experience teaching within a Reception or EYFS setting would be highly advantageous.

Working as part of a supportive and experienced teaching team, the desired Reception Teacher will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging learning opportunities that meet the needs of all children.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Creating a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating Reception environment.
  • Supporting children's development across the seven areas of learning and development.
  • Promoting children's communication, language, literacy, numeracy, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Using a balance of child-initiated play and adult-led activities to support learning.
  • Observing, assessing, and recording children's progress and development.
  • Differentiating activities to meet the individual needs and interests of children.
  • Delivering effective phonics and early reading activities.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting children to develop confidence and independence.
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team.
  • Building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Creating opportunities for children to develop early literacy, mathematics, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Contributing positively to the wider life of the school community.

The successful candidate will be creative, nurturing, enthusiastic, and adaptable, with a genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development.

The School

This welcoming primary school in the DL2 area is seeking a committed Reception Teacher to join their dedicated team.

The school prides itself on its friendly, supportive staff team and its strong, inclusive ethos, where children are encouraged to learn, explore, and develop in a safe and nurturing environment.

Requirements

To be considered for the Reception Teacher position, you will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
