Vision for Education are seeking a reliable and caring Youth Worker Support Workers to work within SEND Settings across Tamworth.
As a Youth Support Worker, you will provide essential support to pupils with complex needs, autism, and behavioural challenges, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and personal development.

Key Responsibilities -
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, acting as a consistent and supportive role model.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils who may need additional emotional, social, or behavioural guidance.
- Support pupils to develop confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, independence, and positive relationships.
- Help pupils manage emotions, regulate their behaviour, and develop appropriate strategies for coping with challenges.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils in developing social skills and respectful interactions with others.
- Work alongside teachers, teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and other professionals to identify and respond to pupils’ individual needs.
- Support pupils who may be experiencing difficulties at home, in school, or within their peer relationships, providing appropriate guidance and signposting where necessary.
- Facilitate engaging activities that promote teamwork, communication, personal development, and life skills.
- Encourage pupils to participate positively in school life, helping them develop a sense of belonging and achievement.
- Support pupils during lessons, break times, lunchtimes, trips, and other school activities where additional support may be required.
- Help identify changes in pupils’ behaviour, mood, or wellbeing and communicate concerns appropriately to relevant school staff.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil support and contribute to meetings, reviews, and individual support plans where required.
- Promote safeguarding, inclusion, equality, and the overall wellbeing of all pupils in line with school policies and procedures.
- Help create a safe, calm, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential.
About you:
To be considered for the Youth Support Worker, you will:
- Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
- Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
- Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
