Experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Bristol Primary Schools

Vision for Education is seeking an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work within welcoming primary schools across Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils on a one-to-one basis, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential.

This role is offered on a flexible supply basis through Vision for Education, with opportunities for long-term and permanent positions for the right candidate.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated support to individual pupils with additional learning needs.
• Help pupils access the curriculum and complete learning activities.
• Build strong, supportive relationships to encourage engagement and confidence.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement learning plans.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and positive classroom environment.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you will:

• Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a 1:1 role.
• Have experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable).
• Be patient, caring and resilient.
• Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Be confident working independently with pupils.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
