Vision for Education is seeking enthusiastic, adaptable, and confident individuals from creative industries and backgrounds to work as Cover Supervisors across secondary schools in Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas.
Whether your experience is in performing arts, music, media, design, photography, creative writing, drama, digital content creation, or another creative field, we would love to hear from you. Previous experience working with young people is preferred, whether through education, coaching, youth work, mentoring, workshops, community projects, or similar settings.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting schools by supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers. This is an excellent opportunity for creative individuals who enjoy engaging with young people and want to gain valuable experience in education.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising whole classes during teacher absences.
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring students remain on task.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Supporting students with their learning and encouraging participation.
- Creating a positive and productive learning environment.
- Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson progress and student behaviour.
- Building positive relationships with students and school staff.
What We're Looking For
- A creative background or qualification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence working with groups of young people.
- A proactive, flexible, and professional approach.
- Experience working with young people is preferred.
- A genuine interest in education and supporting student development.
About the Schools
You'll be working across secondary schools in Wolverhampton and surrounding areas, providing vital cover and support where it's needed most. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, giving you the flexibility to work around your existing commitments.
All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
