Learning Support Assistant – Basildon

Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Basildon from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and wants to make a genuine difference to their learning and development. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide effective support to pupils and help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
• Assist the class teacher with engaging learning activities.
• Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Support classroom management and pupil engagement.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about supporting children and their education.
• Patient, caring, and approachable.
• Confident in building positive relationships with pupils.
• Able to communicate effectively with children and staff.
• Reliable, adaptable, and proactive.
• Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
• Experienced working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting.

Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role is desirable, although candidates with relevant transferable experience are encouraged to apply.
