Contract: Full-time / Long-term
Weekly Pay: £462.80 – £527.80 per week (based on 5 days worked, dependent on experience)

Vision for Education is currently recruiting a compassionate, dedicated, and motivated Learning Support Worker to join a welcoming and inclusive specialist school in the Cwmbran area supporting pupils aged 3–19 years. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in education, additional learning needs (ALN), mental health support, or care.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Worker in Cwmbran, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and specialist staff to support pupils aged 3–19 with a range of additional learning needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Speech and Language Difficulties
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Complex Learning Difficulties
You will play an important role in helping pupils develop academically, socially, emotionally, and independently within a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
The role may also involve supporting pupils with sensory needs, communication difficulties, mobility needs, and personal care routines where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group learning support
- Support pupils with special educational needs and additional learning needs
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and behaviour support strategies
- Encourage independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
- Follow individual education plans (IEPs) and safeguarding procedures
- Support pupils with personal care where required
- Build positive and trusting relationships with learners
- Support pupils with communication and sensory regulation strategies
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with additional learning needs is desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with PMLD, autism, or complex needs is advantageous
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, Learning Support, SEN, Health and Social Care, or equivalent are advantageous
