The School & Role
Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in schools across Hulme, Manchester. Opportunities are available from September, with earlier start dates considered for suitable candidates. This is a long-term position with additional day-to-day supply opportunities available.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning and achieve their individual goals. You will provide tailored assistance both in and out of the classroom, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The role may involve supporting pupils with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and moderate learning difficulties. You will work on a one-to-one basis and with small groups, helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and other support staff, you will play a key role in helping pupils reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
This role would suit an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant, Inclusion Support Worker, Classroom Assistant, or Education Support Worker.
Requirements
To be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant role in Hulme, you should have:

Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs in a school, childcare, care, youth work, or support setting, or hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification.

A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them achieve positive outcomes.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with pupils, families, and school staff.

The ability to build positive relationships and support pupils with varying learning, behavioural, and communication needs.

A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting learning and wellbeing.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
