Vision for Education are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in an SEND School in Birmingham.

About the role

• As a SEND Teaching Assistant in a school, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs or individual learning requirements
• Your main responsibility will be to deliver assistance to help each student overcome challenges and reach their full potential within the school environment
• You will help to nurture an environment in which every student feels valued, respected and supported, celebrating individual differences and achievements.
• In this role, you will collaborate closely with teachers and other support staff to provide effective, coordinated support
• You will also implement individual learning plans, promote student engagement and independence, and maintain regular communication with parents or carers, as well as external professionals

About you:

To be considered for the SEND Teaching Assistant position, you will:

• Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.
• Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
• Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
• Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
