SEND Teaching assistant required in South Birmingham full time

About the role

Vision for Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant in the South Birmingham area with prior experience supporting pupils of a primary age with Special Educational Needs to start from September moving throughout the next academic year.

This role will include:

  • Working both one to one and in small groups with students with Special Educational Needs, outside of the classroom.

  • Following EHCPs and school guidelines.

  • Starting from May 2026 as a full-time member of staff with the potential to become a permanent member of the school.

  • Working between school hours of 08:30-15:30, Monday to Friday ongoing.

The school has received a recent rating of 'Good' by Ofsted and offers a warm welcome to all supply staff.

Requirements

To be considered for the SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will:

  • Have had prior experience working effectively with a student with additional needs.

  • Have a keen passion for building strong working relationships with pupils and providing them with the best chance of developing.

  • Be able to commit to 5 days a week.

  • Ideally have a teaching assistant qualification; however, with the right experience this is not compulsory.

  • Provide references from your most recent and relevant employment.

  • Possess or be willing to obtain an up-to-date DBS check registered with the Update Service.
