Secondary Teaching Assistant Opportunities

Vision for Education is looking to recruit dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work in secondary schools across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. These roles begin on a flexible zero-hours supply contract, with opportunities for long-term placements and permanent positions for the right candidates.

The Role

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SEND teams to support students both academically and socially. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing one-to-one support for students who require additional help.
  • Supporting small groups with classwork and intervention sessions.
  • Encouraging students to engage with learning and reach their potential.
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND where required.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping to build students' confidence and independence.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to provide the best outcomes for students.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or similar setting.
  • Be confident supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be patient, adaptable and committed to helping young people succeed.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
