The Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SEND teams to support students both academically and socially. Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing one-to-one support for students who require additional help.
- Supporting small groups with classwork and intervention sessions.
- Encouraging students to engage with learning and reach their potential.
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND where required.
- Promoting positive behaviour and helping to build students' confidence and independence.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to provide the best outcomes for students.
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you will:
- Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or similar setting.
- Be confident supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be patient, adaptable and committed to helping young people succeed.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
