About the Role

Vision for Education are delighted to be working in partnership with Purfleet Primary Academy to recruit a dedicated, caring and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with their learning, development and wellbeing.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant who is committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will provide tailored one-to-one support, working closely with the class teacher and wider school team to ensure the pupil feels safe, supported and fully included in school life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day.
• Support the pupil with their learning, engagement and development.
• Help the pupil access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
• Build a positive, trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.
• Support the pupil both academically and socially.
• Assist with classroom activities and provide support to the wider class when required.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Monitor the pupil's progress and communicate any concerns to the appropriate staff.

The successful candidate will be:

• Caring, patient and compassionate.
• Passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
• Confident in building positive relationships with pupils.
• Calm, resilient and able to respond positively to challenging situations.
• A strong communicator and effective team player.
• Able to adapt their approach to meet individual needs.
• Previous experience working with children, particularly in a school or SEND setting, is desirable but not essential.
