1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Location: Southend-on-Sea
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026
Vision for Education is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southend-on-Sea.

The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with additional learning needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies.
- Support the pupil's academic, social and emotional development throughout the school day.
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement in classroom activities.
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- Has experience supporting children with SEND, including autism, ADHD or speech and language needs (desirable but not essential).
- Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with children and staff.
- Has strong communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach.
- Holds or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
