About the Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated graduates to work as Graduate Teaching Assistants across a range of welcoming primary schools throughout Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are considering a future career in teaching and would like to gain valuable classroom experience.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils’ learning, provide targeted support to individuals or small groups, and help create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery

  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning

  • Provide additional support to pupils who may need help with literacy, numeracy, or behaviour

  • Assist in preparing classroom resources and maintaining an organised learning environment

  • Encourage pupil confidence, participation, and engagement in lessons

  • Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) where required

Requirements

  • A university degree (any subject)

  • A strong interest in education and working with young people

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A proactive, positive, and supportive attitude

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
