About the Role
Working in partnership with Northern Lights Learning Trust, Vision for Education are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis within primary schools in the Darlington area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children in Key Stage 1. You will work closely with class teachers to help create an engaging, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment, supporting pupils as they develop key literacy, numeracy, and social skills during this important stage of their education.
This is a full-time position, ideal for someone looking for a consistent role within KS1.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the KS1 class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils across Key Stage 1
- Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Assist with classroom preparation, organisation, and learning resources
- Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement
- Work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and parents where appropriate
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children in a Key Stage 1 or primary school setting
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for primary education and supporting young learners
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach to supporting learning
