About the Role
Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and caring 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Thurrock.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting children and helping them reach their full potential. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil, helping them access learning, develop confidence and independence, and thrive both academically and socially.
The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil throughout the school day.
- Support the pupil to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
- Adapt activities and resources to meet the pupil's individual learning needs.
- Encourage confidence, independence and positive engagement with learning.
- Provide emotional and pastoral support where required.
- Support positive behaviour and help the pupil develop appropriate strategies.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.
- Support the pupil during transitions, break times and other activities throughout the school day.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Patient, caring and empathetic, with a genuine passion for supporting children.
- Confident in building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Able to provide consistent and individualised support.
- Proactive, adaptable and resilient, with a positive attitude.
- A strong communicator who can work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- Experienced working with children in a school, childcare, care or similar setting.
- Experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs is desirable but not essential.
Relevant Teaching Assistant or childcare qualifications are desirable, although candidates with strong transferable experience will also be considered.
