About the Role
Vision for Education are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Epping Forest area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and helping them overcome barriers to learning. You will provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil, helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence and independence, and make positive progress both academically and socially.
The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Support the pupil to access classroom learning and activities.
- Adapt activities and resources to meet the pupil's individual needs.
- Encourage confidence, independence and positive engagement with learning.
- Provide emotional and pastoral support where required.
- Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.
- Support the pupil during transitions, break times and wider school activities.
- Monitor and communicate progress and development where appropriate.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Patient, caring and empathetic, with a genuine passion for supporting children.
- Confident in building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Able to provide consistent and individualised support.
- Proactive, adaptable and resilient, with a positive attitude.
- A strong communicator who works well as part of a wider school team.
- Experienced working with children in a school, childcare, care or similar setting.
- Experience supporting children with SEND, ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs is desirable but not essential.
Relevant Teaching Assistant, childcare, education or care qualifications are desirable, although strong transferable experience will also be considered. Vision for Education also welcomes candidates with transferable experience from care and support settings.
