• Teaching Assistant role starting immediately
• Full-time, long-term temporary position with no set end date
• Based in Preston, Lancashire
• Supporting deaf and hearing-impaired students, including those with speech, language and communication needs
• Working within a specialist Deaf Support Unit/SERF provision
• Helping students access mainstream lessons and participate fully in school life
• Providing tailored learning and communication support
• Working closely with the wider Learning Support team
• Previous BSL experience is essential

The school is a secondary school for pupils aged 11–16 in Preston, Lancashire. Its latest Ofsted inspection, published in June 2023, judged the school to be Good.

Requirements

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position in Preston, you will:

• Have experience working with secondary age children
• Hold a minimum Level 2 childcare qualification or equivalent
• Have excellent behaviour management skills
• Be a confident communicator, able to use your own initiative when required
• Have experience using British Sign Language (BSL)
