Vision for Education is looking for caring and motivated individuals to join our team as Trainee Teaching Assistants in specialist SEMH schools across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

The Role

As a Trainee Teaching Assistant in an SEMH school, you will:

  • Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs both in and out of the classroom.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
  • Encourage positive behaviour using consistent and supportive strategies.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
  • Help create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have a genuine passion for working with children and young people.
  • Are patient, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Are adaptable and willing to learn.
  • Have experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults (desirable but not essential).
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one.
